The town of Joshimath is 245km from Rishikesh, in the early house of the dawn Nanda devi, Neelkanth, Barmal, Hathi, ghori, and many. The beautiful Ski Resorts Auli is 15km from Joshimath and also linked by Roopway, joshimath is also the base camp of expeditions to Nandadevi , Kamet, Trishul, Changbang, mukut, Dunagiri, etc. and treks to the kuari pass, Roopkund, Valley of flowers, Nandadevi, Hemkunt, satopanth, Kagbhushandi, Panch Kedar, most important town on I route to sri Badrinath and is a major halting station. Its relious history magnificent scenery; bacing climate and well-stocked market provide visitors with all they need for pilgrimage, holiday, or trekking.
Adiguru snakarachaiya meditated and attained enlightenment in a cave hear . in this cave he wrote has famous shankar bhasya andseat forent in the great task of revining the hidhu religion which by then was eclipsed by the growing infulince of budhisim. At first, a Math was established at jyotirmath and adham at sri badrinath, and later on three more maths and three dham wear organish in the four corners of the country. Atop the cave is the kalpa brisksha, a mulberry tree .that is asaid to be 2400 years old and has developed a girth of the almost 36 metears. If lord Buddha attained enlightenment under Budhi tree at Bodh gaya, Adi Guru Shankaracharya received the same diving message under the kalpabriksha at the jyotrimath. To the extent, joshimath holds an important position in the history of Hindu revivalism.
Jyotirmath, the Adiguru's seat is visited and venerated by hundreds of pilgrims each day and in the evening the Shakaracharya delivers a holy discourse called pravachan. It is important that pilgrims pay visit to jyotirmath, the first math of the Adiguru who established the shrine of sri Badrinath ji.
There is a gate system from Joshimath to Badrinath . the first gate is at 6:30 am and the last at 4:30 pm ,the winding road is well maintained ascends and descends,

Air:- The nearest airport is at jolly grant (17kms from rishikesh 26 kms from dehradun and 298 kms from Joshimath)
Rail:- The nearest rail heads are Rishikesh,haridwar and Dehradun.
Road:- Joshimath is only a 14 kms . Drive from joshimath .state transport and union buses ply regularly between joshimath and rishikesh (257 kms), haridwar (281kms), Dehradun(298kms.) and delhi(500kms).
